Molly's Newsletter:   The Veterans' Advocate   November2016

Dedicated to / in memory of Patrick ("Pat") L. Gualtieri, US Army, Vietnam Veteran (d. July 21, 2015)

[Announcements, events, information, musings, philosophical whimsy, resources, even trivia ... to engage, inspire and enjoy!]

Greetings, family, friends, veterans' community and interested parties:

I hope you all enjoyed a festive Thanksgiving holiday celebration in ways most meaningful to you as we leave the whirlwind of November only to brace for a very busy December with holiday events and more! This beautiful albeit bittersweet time of year can be an emotional roller coaster for some (like me). May we lend support to each other when needed... as we forever remember those who served and sacrificed for our great nation as well as those actively serving and their families, who stand alongside their loved ones.

Let's also remember the many caregivers for their unconditional love, concern and support. At some point and on some level, we may all be caregivers to someone in need... family, service member, friend, neighbor, colleague, other. Whatever the situation, medical or otherwise, we're there... more thanks and boundless appreciation. As we move into the 'belly of the beast' this holiday season, its a reflective time missing those, like Patrick, who passed. While profoundly sad, I try to celebrate his well-lived life vs. grieving/mourning his passing... sometimes they jockey for first place...

Paddy made such a difference in this world and will forever have a permanent place in heart and mind. I again encourage you to do likewise and 'pay it forward' - lend a helping hand... extend holiday wishes... thank someone for their service... 'welcome home' a Vietnam vet... warm another's heart with care and thoughtfulness. Posthumously, we forever thank you, Pat, for your service... your vision, passion, leadership, integrity and event expertise raised the bar so high... you left an indelible footprint... you are very much missed and loved; honored and respected by the veterans' community and beyond... ❤

Molly's Newsletter, The Veterans' Advocate: Independently produced with dedicated effort, generally every other week; more frequently - time permitting when heavy event calendar. Information secured from multiple sources; no representations made; free service provided from which you may benefit. As the calendar swells with holiday season activity, I wish you well - allow yourself some downtime and peaceful moments... pace yourself... safe travels! Feel free to share my newsletter; invite others to sign up.

PLG Veterans Assistance Fund Inc. [501(c)3]  [M.Levi, Founder] - web: ThePatFund.com

Established in memory of my beloved life partner,  U.S. Army; Vietnam veteran, Patrick ("Pat") Gualtieri   [d. July 21, 2015]; the consummate event specialist, producer, leader, mentor, visionary, friend and so much more... well respected [and sorely missed] in the veterans' community and beyond... his 'living legacy' continues... ThePatFund participated in many events this year; organized a very successful clothing++ drive for veterans (men/women) at Samaritan Village; recently had a successful fundraiser, at Red, White & Brew (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn). New initiatives and formal launch planning underway for 2017; stay tuned. Visit ThePatFund.com to learn more about the primary 'pillars of support', specifically: Education / Suicide Prevention / Special Needs [TBI, PTS, other] – a testament to Pat's benevolent spirit and tenacity; donations welcome; thank you.

A favorite Pat quote - by General George Washington:

"-- The willingness of the next generation of veterans to serve, no matter how just the cause, will be directly proportional to the respect and honor the past generation of Veterans received."

Remember A VEteran Inc. = R A V E© [501(c)3underway] [M.Levi, Founder]

New initiatives underway in local communities; visits to local schools for community events in 2017. Goal is to inspire the youth of our city and nation-at-large to 'Remember A VEteran' in various ways; pay it forward! Visit website: www.raveusa.org for expanded information including Mission/Vision Statements. A favored 'Cards for Veterans' will launch again in 2017. Your support and participation are welcome; inquire for ways to volunteer; veterans welcome for school visits! Contact mlevi426@aol.com.

Closing comments

Reminder, use mlevi426@aol.com for communications; advise changes to your status/contact info. I am so inspired by our veterans community and advocate others to 'get involved' and help in ways possible. I also seek to heighten the awareness of veterans' issues to the uninformed public as many simply don't know. Were Pat still alive, he'd be leading the charge once again... a 'tour de force' with a warm, friendly and generous nature, fierce drive and dedication, passion and perseverance. He carried the torch to 'help mankind' and I've taken this on in meaningful ways to preserve our freedom, honor, recognition, remembrance and respect for service... his 'living legacy' continues...

In friendship, love, laughter, lightness and bittersweet tears... may we share many more tomorrows ...    "No Day Shall Erase You From the Memory of Time", Virgil (National September 11 Memorial Museum)

Thank you for your time, interest, friendship, support, generous donations and volunteerism; most appreciated... as you continue to inspire me immeasurably.

In patriotism and friendship with love of these United States of America and Patrick...

Best December 2016 wishes... be well ~ stay well,

Molly ❤
