On a beautiful, unseasonably warm Veterans Day, the United War Veterans Council held their annual Veterans Day parade marching and riding up iconic Fifth Avenue! It was a spectacular sight with 20,000 marchers and 25 floats! Our VVA Chapter float was adorned with flags and sponsor posters.

 

Our chapter member and talented singer, Michelle DellaFave, sang on our float again this year - along with singer Tomaczek Bednarek for a dynamic duo performance! Powerful voices filled the air to the delight of onlookers! Molly Levi, stood holding her favored picture of her late Patrick Gualtieri in memory. Others on the float included Ed Schloeman (OWS), Kathryn Cross (Gold Star), Wes & Yvonne, Michelle Misook Won, several Chapter family members, and guests.

 

It is an amazing experience riding on a float and/or marching up Fifth Avenue to throngs of spectaculars - cheering, waving, applauding, and thanking veterans! It is emotional and fills you with so much patriotic pride!
