If you are a military veteran who:

- served between Feb. 28, 1962 and May 7, 1975
- lives or works in New York City
- are not a Vietnam Veteran of America member.

The Board of Directors of our Vietnam Veterans of America Manhattan Chapter
invites you to join us as a Life Member.

Your membership will entitle you to:

- All the benefits of the VVA National organization with over 80,000 members
(www.vva.org)

- Participation in our Chapter's events, mostly in mid-Manhattan.

At our monthly meetings, the third Tuesday evening of every month, we
provide complementary food, drinks, Chapter highlights, discussion on how to
help veterans, and of course, camaraderie. You will be invited to march in
the annual Veterans Day parade with an after-parade party, and attend our
December holiday party.

The history of our Chapter includes:

a. Advocacy and involvement for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza at 55
Water Street. - The Walk of Honor lists all names of New York City veterans
who were killed in the Vietnam War.


b. The revival of the United War Veterans Council that enhanced and manages
the annual Veterans Day Parade on 11/11. - Come and march with us this
November. 


c. Advocating and picketing for keeping the VAMC hospital on E. 23rd St.
from closing. - Many of us continue to use that facility.


d. Advocating for creating a Commissioner of Veterans Services reporting to
the NYC Mayor. 


e. Recognized for the best website of all the VVA chapters. 


f. Donation of lap robes to wheelchair veterans at local Veterans Hospitals.


g. Donation of homemade face masks to the Borden Avenue Veterans Home.

 

Your $50 lifetime membership will assist us in continuing to help all
veterans and their families,. We would like you to join us in this effort.
